    Hi, i changed the header_footer.jpg to my own, but when i checked my site the header remained the same. why is this?

  2. December 31st, 2008 at 16:15 | #2

    Maybe you didn’t upload it to the correct location or give it correct name. Or maybe it did change, but you are still seeing what is cached on your computer.

    I use the rotate script discussed here: http://www.harshj.com/2007/03/13/rotating-header-images/

    o one more thing, how would i make the header larger so that my banner can fit properly? http://www.game-aware.com/

    Well, that’s going to get a bit more involved since the header, nav bakground, and footer are all in the same image. You’ll need to play with your css a little and then go back and reedit your image. For example, open style.css and do the following:

    Find the following and increase the height to about 220px:

    /* header START */
    #header {
    background:url(img/header_footer.jpg) 0 0 no-repeat;
    height:132px;

    Then find the following nav and increase the first number to about 130px

    #navigation {
    margin:1px 0;

    Once you do that, then you’ll see where you may need to adjust the background image to get the white background behind your nav bar again, and make sure your footer is in the correct place. You’ll just have to play around with the values to get them right.

    ohh i see. how would i adjust the white background?

    Watch the video again…that’s part of the header-footer image. You would need to adjust that in the image.

    Just type /wp-admin at the end of your url and see if you can login and undo it…delete the post if you have to and see if that clears the problem.

  13. January 8th, 2009 at 22:37 | #13

    yea i had to delete all the posts on the front page that i filtered…it was weird, but thnx for the help

  14. January 8th, 2009 at 22:38 | #14

    what does the filter option actually do?

  15. January 8th, 2009 at 22:50 | #15

    The only filter I see is the ability to filter by date and category when in edit post mode, but that shouldn’t have impacted your sidebar.

    ah ic, still not sure why that happened though, but thnx

    @fira
    I’m not sure I understand your question completely, but you can open the header_footer PhotoShop file I included in the download and use it to create your own custom header for iNove. You may want to work with the 200px one I’ve included in the following post. Good luck.

    Great video. I was able to do everything but when I save the new .jpg header it hasn’t uploaded on my site. I’ve given it about 30 minutes and it still doesn’t happen. Thoughts? Thanks!

    @Damon: You just need to upload it to the /inove/img directory. Make sure you replace the existing ones there…there are two of them…one for normal pages and one for single column pages.

    I created my custom header with a logo. I’d like to remove the title and the tagline from the header since I already have it in my newly designed header. How would I do that?

  25. November 17th, 2009 at 07:09 | #25

    @John: Edit style.css to remove it…search wordpress.org…I’ve answered that question dozens of times there…just don’t have the exact lines handy at the moment.

    Hi there, do you know how to make the custom logo header a LINK back to your homepage?

    Any help would be much appreciated.

  27. February 24th, 2010 at 16:28 | #27

    I changed the header in photoshop and saved it in the IMG folder within the the Theme Folder. How do you upload the new zip folder to wordpress?? Not sure where to do this.
