Thank you very much! I was installing a new XAMPP in a certain folder. Copied my old database & my web files to the new XAMPP, then the connection error occurred. Your videos made me realize that the migration does not include the users, thus no DB_USER & no DB_PASSWORD. Had to either recreate them again or just use the default ROOT user without password, which was not a problem since it's only development. However, I was just wondering, is there anyway to import the DB_USERs during migration?

Thanks again for the tips, though. Cheers!

Six weeks after the house burns down the arsonist is complaining that he didn't mean for anyone to know that he burned the house down? Really? So, now that Matt has made an issue of this, we JUST HAVE TO KNOW WHY!?!? I was actually very impressed with some of the comments made in that thread and I can't imagine why Matt is stirring it up again if he doesn't want to draw attention and his comments are dead on, so why try to walk them back. Stiff upper lip Matt.

@Matt Bury

<blockquote>"I’m not particularly fond of having my words quoted to bash Moodle and I think it misrepresents my position."</blockquote>

Really? That's odd since I quoted your entire post--minus the disturbing picture that even I thought was way over the top. And I added a link to your post just in case anyone wanted to see the image. So I'm at a loss as to what you are "not particularly fond of" unless it's your own words.

I think you suffer from the same phenomenon that afflicts many Moodle Disciples--one day you get the courage to speak your mind and you get slapped down by other disciples in the forums, then you jump back in line and try to spin what you originally wrote.

Hi,

I'm not particularly fond of having my words quoted to bash Moodle and I think it misrepresents my position. I like Moodle and I recommend it to whoever I think it would be appropriate for. I write blog articles about using it. I've developed plugins for it. I suggest improvements and make criticisms. That's all part of participating in the Moodle community.

Please read the post in its original context.
