Thanks for the tips. You are one of my first sources when I have a WP problem or question. I followed your instructions and didn't have any trouble upgrading (knock on wood - all looks good). A million thanks.

I figured it out. It was a problem with my host. They took out the hyphen in the name for some dumb reason. All fixed.

Hi. I'm installing a new version of wordpress 2.8.2 to a brand new domanin. I installed using cpanel and have done this several times with no problems. I am getting a 500 internal server error and can't figure out for the life of me why. I've done everything the same as I did when I recently installed on my other add on domains. I even deleted 2.8.2 and tried installing 2.8.1 to see if the issue was the new version, but to no avail. Any clues or suggestions out there?

<a href="#comment-9947" rel="nofollow">@Dhini </a>
1. If you don't backup and run into problems, then you may wish you had.
2. I'm not sure what you mean by "extra safe", but if you have 2.7 then you can backup from the WP admin. If you want to do it manually, then just download the source from the wp.org site.
3. No, but again, it may prevent problems.

1. Must I back up again? cos I have ever back up when I upgrade 2.7 to
2.7.1.
2. Where can I find WordPress source code in “extra safe”?
4. Before upgrade, must use default theme?

Thanks for your answering
