Note: Before attempting any of these techniques, but sure to take a backup of your database and store it in a safe place–just in-case of disaster
Also, I do not attempt to address issues with any custom entries in .httaccess that you may have on your site.

Excellent video, well described and easy to follow. I know have moved my blog to the root thanks to your tutorial!
Just wonderful! Very easy to follow and I had much success it.
Thank-you so much for this video. So helpful, so clear. Really superb.
Thank you!
I normally hate video tutorials, but you did this very well.
Thank you for the help
Do you have a tutorial for renaming the wp-admin folder?
very nice and clear demonstration on moving blogs between directories.
it saved me a lot of reading.
thank a lot
Don’t think you can rename that directory without causing yourself a lot of problems.
Thanx a bunch.
Worked like a charm! Thanks!
Thank you for these videos! You were able to help me move my WP install to a subdirectory on my main site to keep it clean and fix where I messed up on my localhost for a test site.
It’s awful scary when you are new to all of this and your instructions were clear and reassuring.
What about changing the upload directory manually SEttings>media-so that the url matches the new location?
This was AWESOME! Thank you! Just a tip for those who see the home page, but get an error on the back pages – I logged into my WordPress admin, and updated the permalinks, and all was working.
Nice post Awesome. Thanks for sharing good stuff…
Thank you so much…I just moved a site for a client and all went well. Very good tutorial! http://whitneyfleming.com/
This has been a big help. However, the new “red” overlay notice and link for the updated videos on YouTube do not seem to be working. Can you place the link under the video, so that it is clickable and takes you to the new videos?
there are two similar files, index and htacces, do I need to delete both? I saw in your video that you only deleted index file.
Thanks!
Thank you.
I followed the instructions to the letter on the WP site and it still didn’t work. Long time spent racking my brain!
About 1:40 into the “WP to Root” video, I realized I hadn’t moved the other Index file out.
Works perfectly. Thanks again.
You rock! Great explanations.
Thanks for the tutorial. Great and clear instructions. Carried it out and I can get the site up, yet not the admin. I keep getting a blank page.
So I did the reverse but now I am getting a blank admin page in the old situation too!
Any ideas how I can remedy this?
I hate reading WordPress’s own documentation on how to do stuff, thanks for this – and your videos. Will be doing on several sites, thanks
