Don’t think you can rename that directory without causing yourself a lot of problems.

Thank you for these videos! You were able to help me move my WP install to a subdirectory on my main site to keep it clean and fix where I messed up on my localhost for a test site.

It’s awful scary when you are new to all of this and your instructions were clear and reassuring.

This was AWESOME! Thank you! Just a tip for those who see the home page, but get an error on the back pages – I logged into my WordPress admin, and updated the permalinks, and all was working.

This has been a big help. However, the new “red” overlay notice and link for the updated videos on YouTube do not seem to be working. Can you place the link under the video, so that it is clickable and takes you to the new videos?

there are two similar files, index and htacces, do I need to delete both? I saw in your video that you only deleted index file.

    Thanks!

    Thank you.

I followed the instructions to the letter on the WP site and it still didn’t work. Long time spent racking my brain!

About 1:40 into the “WP to Root” video, I realized I hadn’t moved the other Index file out.

    Works perfectly. Thanks again.

Thanks for the tutorial. Great and clear instructions. Carried it out and I can get the site up, yet not the admin. I keep getting a blank page.
So I did the reverse but now I am getting a blank admin page in the old situation too!
Any ideas how I can remedy this?
