Customized iNove Theme for Download — 200px Header

January 17th, 2009 Leave a comment Go to comments

I’ve customized the iNove theme — Version 1.2.2 — to increase the header height from 132px to 200px. If it’s not already set as default, you can see it on this site by selecting “iNove 200px Header” under “Change Themes” on the right.

Click the link below to download a zip file containing the changed files. I’ve included the PhotoShop psd files so that you can edit the headers to add your own logos, images, text, etc. To use, simply unzip and replace the files in the default iNove 1.2.2 theme with the ones in the unzipped folder. Note, I only include the files in the zip that were changed, plus the psd files.

    Yes I know. I have tried that, but can?t find it..

    I use the no sidebar template on certain pages, but a photo won`t strech across the page, just about 600 px. that`s the problem

    @Shankor: just be sure to give it the same name as the existing image and replace the existing one.

    Your modification is great. I only have one issue. It does not render correctly in IE 6.0.

    If I add this:

    #navigation {
    position:absolute;
    top:178px;
    }

    instead of

    #navigation {
    margin:69px 0;
    }

    Then it fixes the IE problem but Safari and FF gets jacked up.

    Any tips? Thanks in advance.

    @Todd: No, I haven’t used IE6 in a long time.

    @figaro
    Normally I wouldn’t care either, but there’s still lots of people who use ie6 and the original iNove renders fine on it. I’m just trying to be thorough. :)

    Hi,
    what you changed in the style.css to lower the menu bar?

    Because instead of just replace my style.css with yours, i think i need to change the code manually because I have modified my css file already to suit my need.

    So I’m afraid if i just replace mine with yours, i will lost all the modification i made.

    Hope u can guide me.

    Thanks.

    Problem solved.

    With inove 1.4 and above, just replace header.jpg file with the new one.

    Good news,
    the menu bar will be lowered automatically!

    Can you help me to show the code where I can adjust my header title and tagline?

    Thanks.

    @neorackle: Look in the style.css for #title and #tagline and add under each add display: none;

    Greetings,
    I have inove 1.4.5. I’ve attempted to increase the size of my banner by following the your inove200 instructions. I can’t get it to work for me. Any suggestions?

    Thx

    So, I got the banner size situated. Done. Now my next concern is editing the bottom categories on the side bar from being seen twice. Thx again.

    @RJ: I think the banner has been changed in 1.4.5…I’m swamped at the moment with my teaching load, but I’ll take a look when I get a chance and may make another video in a few days.

    Is there any way to edit the header size for a wordpress.com blog?

    @Emerica: No, not unless you pay them money and if you are going to do that, I would recommend setting up your own self-hosted wordpress blog–that will give you a lot more flexability and control over your site.
